Elitist

Elitist

I have been listening to all this talk about Obama being an elitist lately. Well so what is new about this? Ever since the Democrats became Socialist they have been elitists. They go around and tell you that you need to drive smaller cars and need more earth friendly energy resources. Then you see them drive a round in big SUV’s and big private planes. They say we need more wind power then they fight against it when it’s in their back yard. It a typical case of do what I say not what I do. It is also a case of you are too stupid to know what is best for you so we will tell you. What else is funny is when they talk they talk down to you. Then when they try to talk on our level (that is like normal people) say things that get themselves in trouble. Like when Obama said people in small towns are bitter and there fore they cling to guns and religion. What he and others like him and Hillary Clinton do not realize is that small town America clings to religion because they have always had a strong religious foundation. Yes, we go to church and worship when times are bad and when times are good. Yes, even when things are good we still go to church. I realize that might be a shock to the Elitist. Also, most of small town America clings to guns because they believe in the Second Amendment and they actually hunt for food. Yes, I recognize that hunting for food might seem like a novelty to some but for many in small town America it is what they believe is a right and in some cases a necessity.
The only Democrat in recent years that actually was able to connect with the average American and I hate to admit this was Bill Clinton. Bill when he talked he actually sounded and acted like one of us. Lately he has lost some of his magic but he still sounds like one of us. Now on the other hand the only Republican that sounded like he understood what we were going through was Ronald Reagan. Both Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan when they talked gave us hope. None of the candidates, Democrat or Republican are giving us this same hope. Yes, we have them talking about hope and change but they have not said how. All they seem to do is alienate more and more Americans.
Where are the Ronald Reagan’s when we need them and I thought I would never say this but where are the Bill Clintons when we need them.

Gas prices are going up

Gas prices are going up.

I am not sure if anyone noticed but gas prices are going up. They say by this summer gas prices will hit $4.00 a gallon. I hear that when you take in inflation it is still less then what was being paid in the 1970s. Well I don’t care about that! What I care about is that I am paying all most double then what I was paying a year ago. I keep on hearing about the big bad Oil Campiness so I went and did some research. I was surprised how many websites had this information.
Now let’s look at this for a moment. North Carolina has 30.15 cents in gas taxes (which is one of the highest in the nation). On top of that is a 18.4cents in federal taxes. Exxon reported that it only made 9.5cents on a gallon of gas. So the state made 20.65cents and the Feds made 9.1cents more then the Big Oil Company. But that is not all; you have to still include the 21% imbedded taxes that liberals won’t tell you about. I paid $3.19 a gallon for gas the day before yesterday. Now let us subtract: Those who like me went to government schools that means take away. 3.19 minus the imbedded taxes leaves 2.52 then minus the state and federal taxes leaves us with $2.03 now what the oil companies made which leaves us with $1.93. It cost about .54cents to refine crude oil that leaves $1.39 cents to transport and profit for the local gas station owner. So who is really gauging us? Looks like the government to me. Oh by the way the Democrats in the house want to raise the gas tax even more.
Now lets look at something else we have three grades and over 50 different blends of gas. Every time a refinery has to switch to make a new blend they have to recalibrate and that cost money. This also adds to the price of gas. So the way I look at it if the politicians were really concerned about us they would get rid of one grade and only have one standard blend and cut the tax rate on gas. They will not cut taxes because it gives them power to buy votes and they will not reduce the blends because they will not be able to blame the Oil Campiness any more for high gas prices.
So that leaves us we need to write our Congressmen and Senators and say enough. We need to let them know that if they continue we will vote them out next election and then make sure we do.

To President George W. Bush

To President George W. Bush

Sir:
I have supported you through all the ups and downs. Even today when many people do not want to admit that they voted for you I stand up and say yes I did and I still support him. Now don’t get me wrong I disagreed with you on some issues. But, we can’t agree on everything.
What I would like to know is what happened to my Republican Party? I remember when the Republican Party stood for the common man. You know the little guy like me. When people would say ho no it’s only for the big business guy I would proudly stand up and defend my Republican Party. I would explain how if it were not for the big business we little guys would not have jobs. I would explain how under the Democrats the military was all but forgotten, except when they needed their votes. But, we in the military as a whole knew better. That’s why they never got our votes. But, today the Republicans or should I say the last 16 years they seem more like Democrats. Spend, spend and increase spending again seems to be their new way. What happened to a smaller government and accountability?
So now that I have said this I want to inform you that I can no longer support the national party with my money. If and when the Republican Party returns to its principles I will again take another look but as for now I will be looking for a new home. Maybe the Liberation Party.

Thank You and God Bless

Vererans Supporting our Troops

I retrieved this from my local news paper The Selma News in Selma North Carolina.

“Three retired Veterans who signed up to do a 1-year tour of duty in Iraq have returned with a new mission, "Resolve to Win". MAJ Dennis McCool, along with retired soldiers, LTC Marc Breslow and MAJ Carl Heerup, are marching from South Carolina to Washington DC.
The veterans say the reason is to support the troops and their mission by demonstrating resolve to do a difficult task. "Resolve to Win" hopes to create a dialogue about our National will to win. They firmly believe that you can not support the troops without supporting the mission.”

What I ask is this:
Where is the national news on this one? Why is this first time I have heard about this? Whenever we see a protest against the war it makes national news but when people are trying to support the troop’s the national news media runs and hides. Oh sorry I forgot if it helps the war effort and George Bush it’s bad but if it hurts the war effort and George Bush its good. For some reason that just don’t sound right, you would think that supporting our troops should be number one regardless of where you stand. I did not agree with us going into Iraq, but we are there and we need to finish it. Other wise those brave young men and women that lost their lives would have died in vain. But, then I did serve for over 20 years in our military defending this great country of ours. So maybe I just look at things a little differently.
God Bless them.
God Bless our Troops
God Bless America
God Bless George Bush

The So Called Evil Rich

I myself am not rich, matter of fact you might consider me as middle, middle class. But, I am really getting sick and tired of the Socialist (that’s what they really are) on the left complaining about the evil rich. I keep on hearing how we need to tax the rich more. The problem is every time taxes are raised to punish the so called rich, my taxes go up. Every time we lower taxes on the so called evil rich my taxes go down. When the Bush tax cuts went into effect my taxes went down. According to the Democrats, this was not supposed to happen. So who are they the Socialist on the left really fooling? The people who have no idea how our economy really works. You know the ones who are not willing to accept responsibility for their own actions. The ones who believe the government should take care of them.
So let me give them some idea. First of all who supplies most of the jobs in this country? Think about it for a moment, it’s the so called evil rich. Matter of fact most jobs in this country are supplied by the Small Business Owner. Most of them are in the upper middle class. Every time taxes are raised on them (the evil rich), the less money they have to invest. If they have less money to invest they don’t expend, and if they don’t expend, then they can’t hire new people. I realize this might be a hard pill to swallow for those educated in government schools, but if you do not wake up soon, more jobs (and they are not yours, they belong to the company) will move over seas. How do we stop this movement? We lower taxes.
The best plan that I have found is in the Fair Tax. That’s right the Fair Tax. But that’s for another time.

Why I Support The Fair Tax.

Why I Support The Fair Tax.

First of all I ask how you would like to get 100% of your pay check and every month the government will send you a check based on your family size. That you will never have to file a tax return and you can say so long to the IRS. Next put into effect a system that would create a tax haven for US companies that will make the products we export over seas less expensive. This makes our products more competitive. Which in turn would bring more jobs to this country? Oh I can’t leave out the so called evil rich; you know the ones who supply the jobs, they will end up paying more in taxes. Does this sound good so far? If so please read on.
What I am talking about is a consumption tax. First of all this is not really a new tax, all it is doing is replacing the imbedded tax we now pay in everything we buy. Imbedded you say what imbedded tax are you talking about. Let me explain. All taxes now paid by companies are hidden in the products we buy every day. That amounts to about 22% of the cost we pay for everything we buy. Every time the government raises the tax on corporations they in turn add those taxes to the products they sell.
When the farmer sells his products to the manufactures he is taxed, when the manufactures sell the products to retailers they are taxed and when the retailer sells the products to us the consumer they are taxed again. All these taxes are added to and hidden in the price we pay for the final product. These are the imbedded taxes we pay.
Have you looked at the percentage of income tax and payroll tax you pay every year? The average American pays about 33 percent or 33 cents on every dollar. How much do you spend every year to have your taxes done? According to the Tax Foundation we spend about $300 billion a year to have our taxes done. That’s $300 Billion! Don’t you think that money is better in our pockets?
Have you thought about the people who don’t pay taxes now? You know the ones the illegal aliens, the drug dealers and other crooks. They will now be paying taxes. Think about it. Wow everybody pays.

Letter to Obama

Mr. Obama

I would like to know is do you support the Fair tax? If not why not, from what I have studied it would do more for the lower income then any other tax reform out there. It would also bring jobs to this country. For someone who wants change the Fair tax would differently change the way we are taxed and boost our economy. So if you have not read the bill you should go ahead and do it. I believe that if you were really for the poor you would jump all over this.

Thank You
